WASHINGTON, July 7 -- Sen. Benjamin Cardin, D-Maryland, issued the following news release:
U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen (Both D-Md.) have submitted their first requests in a series for Fiscal Year 2022 to the Senate Appropriations Committee for Congressionally Directed Spending or Community Projects. This marks the first time since 2010 that the Senate has permitted such requests, which, under new guidelines, must meet strict transparency and funding requirements.
