AUSTIN, Texas, June 23 -- Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, issued the following statement:

Pursuant to Article IV, Section 14, of the Texas Constitution, I, Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas, do hereby disapprove of and veto House Bill No. 3135 as passed by the Eighty-Seventh Texas Legislature, Regular Session, because of the following objections:
House Bill 3135 would levy special assessments on residential properties and allow the City of Austin to subseque . . .
