AUSTIN, Texas, June 23 -- Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, issued the following statement:

Pursuant to Article IV, Section 14, of the Texas Constitution, I, Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas, do hereby disapprove of and veto House Bill No. 1193 as passed by the Eighty-Seventh Texas Legislature, Regular Session, because of the following objections:
People who commit youthful indiscretions should have the opportunity to turn their lives around and not be burden . . .
