WASHINGTON, March 20 -- Rep. Steny H. Hoyer, D-Maryland, issued the following news release on March 19, 2021:

Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) and Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) filed updated legislation today to designate Southern Maryland as a National Heritage Area (NHA) to further commemorate, conserve and promote important natural, scenic, historic, cultural and recreational resources in St. Mary's, Calvert, Charles and Prince George's counties.
