On Wednesday, Jan. 6, chaos erupted in Washington when thousands of protesters stormed the Capitol building in an attempt to prevent legislators from certifying the results of the 2020 presidential election. The day's disordered and at many moments violent events left one of the country's most storied structures damaged -- and resulted in five deaths.
