HONOLULU, Hawaii, Dec. 18 (TNSJou) -- The University of Hawaii Cancer Center issued the following news:
According to a study conducted by University of Hawaii Cancer Center researcher, Michele Carbone, MD, PhD, and collaborators, individuals born with inherited mutations of the 'BLM gene' are more susceptible to developing mesothelioma, especially upon exposure to asbestos. The study was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences .
