ITHACA, New York, Dec. 12 (TNSRes) -- Cornell University issued the following news:
Sunflower sea stars - once ubiquitous all along the Pacific Coast, from Mexico to California to the shores of Alaska - may be on the brink of extinction.
Citing a 90% decline in the species' global population, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) on Dec. 10 officially placed the sunflower sea star (Pycnopodia helianthoides) on the group's Red List of Threat . . .
