HONOLULU, Hawaii, Dec. 10 -- Gov. David Ige, D-Hawaii, issued the following news release on Dec. 9:
Gov. David Ige announced today that state employees will be furloughed two days a month starting January 1 of next year, to balance the state budget. The state is projecting a $1.4 billion budget shortfall in the general fund for each of the next four years.
