MONTGOMERY, Alabama, Dec. 10 -- The Alabama Republican Party issued the following news release:
The Washington County Republican Party welcomed four new Republican elected officials at its monthly meeting on December 1st.
Washington County Sheriff Richard Stringer and Circuit Clerk Valerie Knapp appeared before the GOP County Committee and requested to switch from the Democrat to the Republican Party. The Executive Committee approved both requests unanimously.
