WASHINGTON, Oct. 3 -- The U.S. Navy issued the following news release:
Adm. Carlisle A. H. Trost, former Chief of Naval Operations (CNO), died September 29, 2020, in Maryland. He was 90.
Trost, a native of Illinois, served as the 23rd Chief of Naval Operations from June 30, 1986, until June 29, 1990.
