AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 1 -- Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, issued the following news release on Sept. 30:
Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will provide approximately $196 million in emergency Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food benefits for the month of October as the state continues to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
