Hawaii Gov. Ige Appoints 'Special Master' to Assess Public Safety Department

HONOLULU, Hawaii, Sept. 9 -- Gov. David Ige, D-Hawaii, issued the following news release on Sept. 8:

Gov. David Ige announced today that he has appointed Edmund ("Fred") Hyun to serve as the Governor's Special Master to assist in overseeing the State Department of Public Safety.

Hyun is the current chair of the Paroling Authority. Effective immediately and through the month of September, he will serve as special master of the department. He will continue . . .
