AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 18 -- The Texas Democratic Party issued the following press document:
Under Republican Governor Abbott, Texas has hit yet another depressing moment in state history. The Texas Department of State Health Services COVID-19 tracker reports Texas is now at 10,491 deaths as of 10:00 AM CDT on August 17.
The number of Texans who have died from the COVID-19 is believed to be actually higher than what Abbott and the state are reporting.
