CONCORD, New Hampshire, July 28 -- The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services issued the following news release:
A cyanobacteria bloom has been observed on Jones Pond. A deep layer of Oscillatoria (Planktothrix isothrix) was estimated at 300,000 cells/ml. This bloom has been recurring for several years and has been observed at the water's surface at certain times of the day. Blooms can rapidly change and accumulate in various locations around a waterbody.
