DGA Issues Statement on Expiring COVID-19 Unemployment Benefits

WASHINGTON, July 25 -- The Democratic Governors Association issued the following statement by Chair New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy calling on the Congress to take immediate action to extend the expiring COVID-19 unemployment benefit:

This weekend, the extra $600 unemployment benefit provided to Americans through the CARES Act is set to expire, spelling disaster for the unemployed individuals across the country who have come to rely on the extra support.
