COLUMBIA, Missouri, July 7 -- The University of Missouri issued the following news release:
University of Missouri Vice Chancellor for Operations Gary Ward announced that Brian Weimer, major of operations with the MU Police Department, has been named interim chief of MUPD. He replaces Chief Doug Schwandt, who is retiring after 20 years of service to the department, effective Aug. 3.
