NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana, July 1 -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-New Orleans District issued the following news release:
After 176 days, water levels along the Mississippi River have dropped below 11 feet at the Carrollton Gage prompting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District to close out flood fight efforts today.
