PORTLAND, Oregon, June 15 -- Oregon Health and Science University issued the following statement by President Danny Jacobs:
The federal government's decision June 12 to reverse civil rights protections for transgender, gender-nonconforming, gender nonbinary and gender diverse people is antithetical to OHSU's values. By defining the word 'sex' as being biologically determined as male or female, transgender patients will once again be exposed to discrimination by health care providers . . .
