NEW YORK, May 8 -- New York-Presbyterian Hospital issued the following news release:
Hydroxychloroquine has been widely administered to COVID-19 patients but without robust evidence supporting its use. Recent laboratory studies (1 and 2) suggested that hydroxychloroquine may prevent the SARS-CoV-2 virus from replicating in mammalian cells. Data from small clinical studies have been difficult to interpret.
