BATON ROUGE, Louisiana, April 30 -- Gov. John Bel Edwards, D-Louisiana, issued the following statement:
On Wednesday, April 29, Gov. John Bel Edwards will travel to Washington, D.C. to meet with President Donald Trump to discuss Louisiana's ongoing response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Gov. Edwards is one of a handful of governors invited to meet one-on-one with the President.
Currently, Louisiana has the fifth-highest per capita rate of cases in the United States.
