HONOLULU, Hawaii, March 6 -- Gov. David Ige, D-Hawaii, issued the following news release on March 5:

Gov. David Ige issued an emergency proclamation that allows the state to work quickly and efficiently to prevent, contain and mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus or COVID-19, and to provide disaster relief if necessary.
