WASHINGTON, Feb. 21 -- NPR issued the following news release on Feb. 20:
Public media stations in Birmingham, Alabama (WBHM); Jackson, Mississippi (Mississippi Public Broadcasting); and New Orleans (WWNO) and Baton Rouge (WRKF), Louisiana, have joined together to launch the Gulf States newsroom.
With support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and NPR, this innovative collaboration will result in increased coverage of news events in a region at the inters . . .
