SAN FRANCISCO, California, Feb. 15 -- The Center for Biological Diversity issued the following news release:

Conservation and environmental groups filed notices of their intent to sue the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management and the companies behind the Keystone XL pipeline for failing to consider the effects of the pipeline--including likely oil spills--on endangered species, including whooping cranes and pallid sturgeon.
