WASHINGTON, Feb. 14 -- Rep. Eliot Engel, D-New York, issued the following statement on the House's passage of removing the deadline for ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment (H.J.Res 79):
"Throughout my Congressional career I have supported efforts to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment and today's vote gets our nation one step closer to this goal. This Constitutional Amendment would give women in the United States a critical tool in a legal arsenal to combat pay discriminat . . .
