WASHINGTON, Feb. 13 -- The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management issued the following opening statement on Feb. 11 by Ranking Member Margaret Wood Hassan, D-New Hampshire, at a hearing entitled "The Afghanistan Papers: Costs and Benefits of America's Longest War":
