WASHINGTON, Feb. 12 -- Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Illinois, issued the following news release:
U.S. Representative Bobby L. Rush (D-Ill.) introduced legislation to observe the month of April of each year as Hazel M. Johnson Environmental Justice Month.
"Hazel Johnson galvanized minorities and low-income groups -- most notably on Chicago's South Side -- in order to seek equal environmental protections and correct environmental and social injustices on behalf her commun . . .
