ANNAPOLIS, Maryland, Dec. 27 -- The Maryland Democratic Party issued the following statement on the death of ex-State Sen. Ulysses Currie:
"We are saddened by the passing of Senator Currie. His 32-year career was defined by his fierce advocacy for education and his mentorship of current and former Annapolis lawmakers.
We lost a giant in Prince George's County politics today. Sen. Currie was a kind man and a passionate servant of his community," said Maryl . . .
