WASHINGTON, Dec. 6 -- Rep. Donald M. Payne Jr., D-New Jersey, issued the following news release:

Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. wants to protect the voting rights of all Americans from state policies that violate those rights.

Congressman Payne, Jr. voted for the Voting Rights Advancement Act (H.R.4) today, a bill that would require states that have violated federal voting laws multiple times to get permission from the federal government before they can change voting . . .
