Assembly Advances Thomson's 'Blue Alert' Bill Creating Emergency Alert System for Missing or Injured Law Enforcement Officers

TRENTON, New Jersey, Nov. 25 -- New Jersey State Assembly Republicans issued the following news release on behalf of Assemblyman Ned Thomson:

Today the Assembly unanimously voted in favor of creating a "Blue Alert System" to help an attacked law enforcement officer and arrest the perpetrator.

Sponsored by Assemblyman Ned Thomson, the alert system would work similar to Amber Alerts for abducted children and Silver Alerts for missing seniors, which disseminates . . .
