Rep. Upton Issues Statement on Passage of Nuclear Waste Policy Amendments Act

WASHINGTON, Nov. 20 -- Rep. Fred Upton, R-Michigan, issued the following statement after the House Energy and Commerce Committee voted by voice to advance the Nuclear Waste Policy Amendments Act (H.R. 2699):

The NWPAA would restart the long-stalled process of licensing the repository at Yucca Mountain.

Upton is an original cosponsor of the legislation.
