NEW YORK, Oct. 30 -- The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey issued the following news release:

- Port Authority airports set nine-month passenger volume record, handling 1.9 percent more passengers than the previous record of 103.8 million;
- Port of New York and New Jersey cargo volumes surge to 5.5 percent higher than previous nine-month record, with port volumes once again placing the port as No. 2 in the nation;
