WASHINGTON, Oct. 27 -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, issued the following statement on the death of ex-Rep. John Conyers Jr., D-Michigan:
"Today, the Detroit community and the U.S. Congress mourn the loss of a civil rights champion and public servant: Chairman John Conyers, the Dean of the House.
