WASHINGTON, Oct. 23 -- Sen. Deb Fischer, R-Nebraska, chairman of the Senate Commerce subcommittee on Transportation and Safety, issued the following statement after the Department of Transportation renewed an Essential Air Service contract with SkyWest to provide support for three years to airports in Scottsbluff and North Platte:
