Rep. Bergman Issues Statement Opposing Resolution

WASHINGTON, Oct. 17 -- Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Michigan, issued the following statement opposing a resolution (H.J.Res.77):
"It's reckless to force every Member of Congress to vote on something as significant as H.J. Res. 77 prior to even receiving a classified briefing from the Secretary of Defense or Chair of the Joint Chiefs.
"While this is par for the course in D.C. politics, it's unacceptable for elected leaders. That's why I opposed H.J. Res. 77.
