WASHINGTON, Sept. 26 -- Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Georgia, issued the following statement applauding the Senate's confirmation of Eugene Scalia to be Labor Secretary on a 53-44 vote:

"As the former solicitor of the Department of Labor, a skilled attorney and dedicated public servant, Eugene Scalia brings the right experience as we continue to build on the economic success of the last several years and look out for the hardworking Americans who make up our workforce.
