WASHINGTON, Sept. 25 -- Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Michigan, ranking Democratic member of the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee, issued the following opening statement at a hearing entitled "Perspectives on the Livestock and Poultry Sectors":
