WASHINGTON, Sept. 16 -- Sen. Deb Fischer, R-Nebraska, issued the following statement on the death of Don Overman, Scottsbluff's longest serving mayor and a Nebraska community leader for over 50 years:
"Bruce and I mourn the passing of a pillar in the Scottsbluff community, Don Overman.
"He was a positive person who worked tirelessly to serve his church, community, and state, and he'll be greatly missed.
