WASHINGTON, Sept. 10 -- Rep. Maxine Waters, D-California, chairwoman of the House Financial Services Committee, issued the following opening statement at a full committee hearing entitled "A $1.5 Trillion Crisis: Protecting Student Borrowers and Holding Student Loan Servicers Accountable":
