WASHINGTON, Sept. 4 -- Reps. Frank Pallone Jr., D-New Jersey, chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and Jan Schakowsky, D-Illinois, chairman of the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Commerce, issued the following joint statement after the Federal Trade Commission announced a settlement with Google, and its subsidiary YouTube, to settle allegations that YouTube collected personal information from children without parental consent:
