Montana Public Health and Human Services Department Reports Season's First Human Cases of West Nile Virus

HELENA, Montana, Aug. 29 -- The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services issued the following news release:

State and local public health officials are reporting the season's first human West Nile Virus (WNV) cases in Montana. The cases, reported in Custer and Lewis and Clark counties, both occurred in individuals over the age of 60, who are often at greater risk for severe disease.

Both required hospitalization and no further information is available . . .
