BROWNSVILLE, Texas, Aug. 21 -- Rep. Filemon Vela, D-Texas, issued the following news release:

Today, Congressman Filemon Vela (D-TX) announced that Texas A&M University-Kingsville will receive $5,000,000 in funds from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for their project entitled Centers of Research Excellence in Science and Technology - Sustainable Water Use (CREST-SWU).

These federal funds will be used to establish the Center for Sustainable Water Use.
