CONCORD, New Hampshire, Aug. 20 -- The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services issued the following news release:
A cyanobacteria bloom has been observed on Scobie Pond, also known as Haunted Lake, in Francestown, NH. The bloom appeared as tiny blue-green clumps in the water, accumulating along the shorelines and coves. Samples collected on 8/19 exceeded the State threshold of 70,000 cells/ml of cyanobacteria. Water samples contained 204,000 cells/ml of the cyanobacteria . . .
