AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 12 -- The Republican Party of Texas issued the following statement by Chairman James Dickey regarding the vote of the Texas House General Investigating Committee to ask the Texas Rangers to investigate the meeting between Speaker Dennis Bonnen, House Caucus Chair Dustin Burrows, and Empower Texans' CEO Michael Quinn Sullivan:
