DEER LODGE, Montana, Aug. 8 -- The Senate Energy and Natural Resources subcommittee on National Parks issued the following testimony by Powell County Commissioner Doug Crachy at a field hearing to examine opportunities to expand visitation at lesser-known National Park System units:
"Powell County originated by being split off of Deer Lodge County in 1901. The county seat of Powell County is Deer Lodge. Agriculture has been and still is the main economic business in Powell Coun . . .
