WASHINGTON, July 22 -- Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, issued the following statement on Apollo 11:
"It was at Rice Stadium in Houston, Texas, in 1962 when John F. Kennedy stood before the American people and boldly declared, "We choose to go to the moon."
"American leadership captivated the world as Apollo 11 expelled beyond our atmosphere some seven years later in 1969. At a time when the Time's "Person of the Year" was the "Middle Americans . . .
