WASHINGTON, July 12 -- Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, member of the House Judiciary, Homeland Security and Budget Committees, issued the following statement on the death of Phil Freelon, architect of the National Museum of African American History and Culture:
"I was saddened to learn of the passing of Phil Freelon, a gifted architect who led the design team for the National Museum of African American History and Culture for the Smithsonian, and whom we lost too soon earlier . . .
