GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan, June 20 -- The U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan, Andrew Byerly Birge, issued the following news release:

U.S. Attorney Andrew Birge announced today that Rick Lynn Simmons, 52, of Kentwood, Michigan was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Janet T. Neff for making an interstate telephone call to the Camden, New Jersey office of U.S. Senator Cory Booker and leaving a voicemail message with a threat to injure Senator Booker.
