WASHINGTON, June 20 -- Rep. James Baird, R-Indiana, issued the following news release:
Today, the Expanding Findings for Federal Opioid Research and Treatment Act (EFFORT Act), introduced by Congressman Jim Baird (R-IN) and Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton (D-VA), passed unanimously through the U.S. House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.
The bill supports research that would identify the root causes of opioid addiction and prevent gaps in treatment.
