RICHMOND, Virginia, June 4 -- The Virginia Republican Party issued the following statement by Chairman Jack Wilson in response to Gov. Ralph Northam's call for a special session of the Virginia General Assembly:
"We weep for the people of Virginia Beach, and pray for those who lost their lives to this senseless act of violence.
"That Ralph Northam would take advantage of this tragedy to try and boost his own disgraced image is disgusting.
