WASHINGTON, May 22 -- The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights issued the following statement by Kristine Lucius, executive vice president for policy and government affairs, on the Senate's vote to confirm Howard Nielson to the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah:
"By confirming Howard Nielson, the Senate has pushed through another extreme lifetime nominee who will not be fair-minded or impartial.
